The iPad mini 2 has a general score of 77.2, which is much better than Microsoft Surface Pro 2's 65.1 general score. Although the iPad mini 2 and the Microsoft Surface Pro 2 were only released with a couple of months difference, the iPad mini 2 is thinner and noticeably lighter. The iPad mini 2 has iOS 8.x OS, and Microsoft Surface Pro 2 has Windows 8.1 Pro OS.
IPad mini 2 has a bit better processor than Microsoft Surface Pro 2, because although it has a smaller amount of RAM memory, and they both have the same number of cores, the iPad mini 2 also counts with a GPU and a 64-bits processing unit. The iPad mini 2 features a better display than Microsoft Surface Pro 2, because although it has a much smaller screen, it also counts with a way better screen density and a better 1536 x 2048px resolution.
IPad mini 2 counts with a very superior camera than Microsoft Surface Pro 2, because it has a way better 1920x1080 (Full HD) video definition.
