IPad mini 2 has an overall score of 77.1, which is much better than Microsoft Surface 3's 66.3 score. The iPad mini 2 body is extremely lighter and thinner than the Microsoft Surface 3, although it was released around 19 months before. IPad mini 2 counts with a bit faster CPU than Microsoft Surface 3, because although it has less RAM memory and an inferior number of slower cores, it also counts with an extra graphics co-processor and a 64-bit processor.
IPad mini 2 counts with a lot better screen than Microsoft Surface 3, because although it has a lot smaller display, it also counts with a slightly higher resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels and a lot greater pixels count per inch in the screen. IPad mini 2 counts with a greater camera than Microsoft Surface 3, although it has a camera with a way lower resolution and a lower 1920x1080 (Full HD) video resolution.
