The iPad mini 3 is a newer portable tablet, and it is also lighter and a bit thinner than Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9. IPad mini 3 counts with iOS 8.x OS, and Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 counts with Android 4.2.2 OS.
