Apple iPad mini 3 has a global score of 77.5, which is a bit better than the iPad mini 4's 75.6 global score. The Apple iPad mini 3 is an older, heavier and incredibly thicker tablet than the iPad mini 4. Both tablets we compare here work with iOS operating system, but Apple iPad mini 3 has the older 8.x version and iPad mini 4 has iOS 9.x version.
The iPad mini 3 has a little bit better looking display than iPad mini 4. Both have a screen with the same size, a better pixel number per inch of display and the same 1536 x 2048px resolution. IPad mini 4's memory to store more apps and games is just as good as iPad mini 3's one, they have exactly the same internal memory capacity.
Apple iPad mini 3 has a better hardware performance than iPad mini 4, because although it has less RAM memory, it also counts with a GPU, a larger number of cores and a 64-bit processing unit. The Apple iPad mini 4 has a slightly better camera than iPad mini 3, and although they both have the same video resolution, a F2.4 diafragm aperture and the same 30 fps video frame rate, the Apple iPad mini 4 also has a way more mega pixels back camera.

Although Apple iPad mini 3 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than iPad mini 4, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as iPad mini 4. If you want to save a few dollars, you can get the iPad mini 4, giving up a few features and specifications, but you'll get the most out of your money.
