The iPad mini 3 has an overall score of 77.5, which is better than Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1's 67.8 general score. IPad mini 3 comes with iOS 8.x OS, and Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 comes with Android 4.4.2 OS. IPad mini 3 is a lighter and just a bit thinner tablet than Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, even though they were released with only a few months difference.
The Apple iPad mini 3 counts with a much sharper display than Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, because although it has a really smaller display, it also counts with a much better resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels and a much higher pixel density. Apple iPad mini 3 counts with much more memory for games and applications than Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, because although it has no slot for an external memory card, it also counts with 128 GB internal memory capacity.

So if you want that extra specs, you can buy the iPad mini 3, else you can save a couple dollars and get the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, letting go some features and specs.
