IPad mini 4 has an overall score of 75.6, which is much better than iPad 9.7-inch's overall score of 65.4. These tablets include iOS operating system, but iPad mini 4 has 9.x version while iPad 9.7-inch has iOS 13.x, so it offers some nice extra features and performance enhancements. The iPad mini 4 body is thinner and a lot lighter than the iPad 9.7-inch, even though it was released a bit more further than a year before.
The iPad 9.7-inch counts with a little bit better performance than Apple iPad mini 4, and although they both have a 2 GB RAM, the iPad 9.7-inch also has a greater number of cores. Apple iPad mini 4 features a more vivid display than iPad 9.7-inch, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, and they both have exactly the same resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels, the Apple iPad mini 4 also counts with a just a bit higher pixel number per inch in the display.
IPad mini 4 captures a little bit better pictures and videos than Apple iPad 9.7-inch. Both of them have a F2.4 diafragm aperture, a 8 megapixels camera, the same video frame rates and the same (Full HD) video quality. Apple iPad mini 4 has a lot bigger memory for apps and games than iPad 9.7-inch.
