The Apple iPad mini 3 has an overall score of 77.5, which is a bit better than the iPad mini 4's overall score of 75.6. Despite being the best in this comparison, Apple iPad mini 3's design is older, somewhat heavier and notably thicker than the iPad mini 4. Both of these devices work with iOS OS (operating system), but Apple iPad mini 3 has an older 8.x version while iPad mini 4 has iOS 9.x version.
IPad mini 3 features a better performing processor than iPad mini 4, because although it has 1 GB less RAM memory, it also counts with a 64 bits processing unit, more cores and an extra graphics processing unit. IPad mini 3 counts with a slightly better looking screen than iPad mini 4. Both of them have a display with the same size, a higher pixel number in each inch in the screen and the same exact resolution of 1536 x 2048px.
The Apple iPad mini 4 features a slightly better camera than iPad mini 3, and although they both have the same video frame rates, the same video quality and the same camera aperture, the Apple iPad mini 4 also has a back camera with a way better resolution.
