The iPad Pro 12.9-inch (2020) has a score of 84.6, which is slightly better than iPad Air 2's 79.3 general score. IPad Pro 12.9-inch (2020) works with iPadOS 13.x OS, while iPad Air 2 works with iOS 8.x OS. Even though the iPad Pro 12.9-inch (2020) is extremely heavier than the iPad Air 2, it's a bit thinner and also way newer.
The iPad Air 2 counts with a bit sharper screen than Apple iPad Pro 12.9-inch (2020), although it has a lot worse 2048 x 1536 resolution, a way smaller screen and a little bit lower pixel density. The iPad Pro 12.9-inch (2020) has a better processing unit than Apple iPad Air 2, because although it has a 32-bits processor instead of 64-bits, it also counts with 4 GB more RAM and a higher number of cores (and they are faster).
The Apple iPad Air 2's storage capacity to store more games and applications is very similar to Apple iPad Pro 12.9-inch (2020)'s one, both have equal 128 GB internal storage capacity. IPad Pro 12.9-inch (2020) has superior battery life than Apple iPad Air 2, because it has a 9720mAh battery size against 7340mAh.
The Apple iPad Pro 12.9-inch (2020) counts with a superior camera than iPad Air 2, because it has a much higher 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, a camera in the back with way more MP and a way bigger camera aperture to capture better low-light images.
Although iPad Pro 12.9-inch (2020) is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the iPad Air 2, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as iPad Air 2. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can get the iPad Air 2, and give up a couple features and specs, but you'll get the most with your money.
