The iPad Air (2020) has a general score of 71.7, which is just a bit better than iPod Touch (2019)'s score of 66.9. IPad Air (2020)'s construction has the same thickness than iPod Touch (2019), but it's way heavier. IPad Air (2020) has iPadOS 14.x OS, while iPod Touch (2019) comes with iOS 13.x OS.
Apple iPod Touch (2019) has a bit better looking screen than Apple iPad Air (2020), because although it has a really smaller display and a lot lower resolution of 640 x 1136, and they both have the same screen brightness, the Apple iPod Touch (2019) also counts with a just a little more pixels per display inch.
Apple iPad Air (2020) has a faster CPU than Apple iPod Touch (2019), because it has more cpu cores and a 64-bit CPU. Apple iPod Touch (2019) has a much bigger memory for applications, games, photos and videos than iPad Air (2020), because it has 256 GB internal memory. IPad Air (2020) takes way better videos and photos than Apple iPod Touch (2019), because it has a way bigger camera aperture, a back-facing camera with a lot better resolution and a way better (4K) video definition.

So if you want that extra specs, you can buy iPad Air (2020), otherwise you can save some money and get the Apple iPod Touch (2019), giving up some specifications.
