Comparison review
The Microsoft Surface 2 has a score of 63.4, which is better than the Asus Fonepad 8's overall score of 55.6. The Microsoft Surface 2 counts with Windows RT 8.1 operating system, while Asus Fonepad 8 counts with Android 4.4 operating system. Microsoft Surface 2's construction has the same thickness than Asus Fonepad 8, but it is much heavier.
The Microsoft Surface 2 features a slightly better looking display than Asus Fonepad 8, because it has a way larger screen, a bit higher pixel density and a much better resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The Microsoft Surface 2 counts with much more storage capacity to install applications and games than Asus Fonepad 8, because although it has no external memory card slot, it also counts with 64 GB internal storage.
The Asus Fonepad 8 counts with a bit superior processing unit than Microsoft Surface 2. They have a Quad-Core processing unit and 2 GB of RAM. Microsoft Surface 2's camera is very similar to the Asus Fonepad 8 one, both have a 5 megapixels camera in the back. Microsoft Surface 2 features a battery duration that is just as good as the Asus Fonepad 8 one.
Although Microsoft Surface 2 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Asus Fonepad 8, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Asus Fonepad 8. So if you want that extra features, you can buy the Microsoft Surface 2, but if you don't you can save some money and buy the Asus Fonepad 8, letting go a couple features and specs.
