The Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has an overall score of 61.4, which is a little bit better than the Asus MeMO Pad 8's 61.2 global score. Both tablets we are comparing here work with Android OS (Operating System), but the Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has older 4.1 version and Asus MeMO Pad 8 has Android 4.4 version. Even though Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is a better tablet device than the Asus MeMO Pad 8, we must tell that it is also a lot older, way heavier and much thicker.
Asus MeMO Pad 8 counts with a more powerful processing unit than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because it has a larger number of cores and a larger amount of RAM. The Asus MeMO Pad 8 counts with a much sharper display than Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because although it has a lot smaller screen, it also counts with a much better resolution of 1920 x 1200 and much more pixels per inch of screen.
The Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) takes a bit better photographs and videos than Asus MeMO Pad 8, although it has a lower (HD) video definition and a lot lower resolution camera. Asus MeMO Pad 8 features a way bigger memory for games and applications than Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), and although they both have an external memory slot that allows a maximum of 64 GB, the Asus MeMO Pad 8 also has more internal storage capacity.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has a much better battery life than Asus MeMO Pad 8.
Although Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is a better device, it costs a lot more than Asus MeMO Pad 8, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Asus MeMO Pad 8. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy the Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), else you can save some money and get the Asus MeMO Pad 8, resigning some specifications.
