Comparison review
Microsoft Surface Pro 2 has a score of 65.1, which is much better than the Asus VivoTab 8's score of 55.6. Although it's the best portable tablet in this review, Microsoft Surface Pro 2 is a extremely heavier and notably thicker portable tablet than Asus VivoTab 8. Both tablets we compare here include Windows operating system, but Microsoft Surface Pro 2 has a more recent 8.1 Pro version and Asus VivoTab 8 has Windows 8.1.
Asus VivoTab 8 features a little sharper screen than Microsoft Surface Pro 2, although it has a bit worse pixels count per inch in the display, a much smaller display and a much lower resolution of 1280 x 800px. Asus VivoTab 8 counts with just a little better processing power than Microsoft Surface Pro 2, because although it has 6 GB less RAM, it also counts with a larger number of cores (and they are faster).
The Asus VivoTab 8 features a much better camera than Microsoft Surface Pro 2. The Microsoft Surface Pro 2 has a much better memory for apps and games than Asus VivoTab 8, because although it has no SD memory slot, it also counts with 512 GB internal storage. The Asus VivoTab 8 and the Microsoft Surface Pro 2 both count with similar batteries.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 2 costs more money than Asus VivoTab 8, but it's still a convenient choice, because you can get a better tablet for that extra money.
