The Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE is better than Asus VivoTab 8, having a 63 score against 55.6. The Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE body has the same thickness than the Asus VivoTab 8, but it is much heavier. Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE has Android 4.4.2 OS, while Asus VivoTab 8 works with Windows 8.1 OS. Asus VivoTab 8 counts with a much better screen than Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE, because although it has a really smaller screen, and they both have an equal resolution of 1280 x 800px, the Asus VivoTab 8 also counts with a greater pixel number per inch in the screen.

Asus VivoTab 8 counts with much more storage for games and applications than Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE, and although they both have a slot for an external memory card that supports a maximum of 64 GB, the Asus VivoTab 8 also has more internal storage capacity. The Asus VivoTab 8 features a bit better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE. Both of them have the same number of cores and 2 GB of RAM.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE's battery performance is just as good as the battery life in Asus VivoTab 8. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE captures better photographs and videos than Asus VivoTab 8, because it has a back facing camera with way more MP.

Although Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Asus VivoTab 8, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Asus VivoTab 8. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and get the Asus VivoTab 8, resigning a couple specs and features.
