Comparison review

The Microsoft Surface 2 is much better than the Asus VivoTab, with a 63.4 score against 57.5. Microsoft Surface 2's design is newer, but just a bit thicker and just a bit heavier than Asus VivoTab. These tablets use Windows operating system, but the Microsoft Surface 2 has a newer RT 8.1 version while Asus VivoTab has Windows 8.

The Microsoft Surface 2 counts with a brighter screen than Asus VivoTab, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, it also counts with a much greater pixel density and a better 1080 x 1920 resolution. The Microsoft Surface 2 features as much memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos as the Asus VivoTab, and although the Microsoft Surface 2 has no slot for external memory cards, they both have equal 64 GB internal storage capacity.

Asus VivoTab counts with a bit better CPU than Microsoft Surface 2, because although it has a lower number of cores (although they are faster), and they both have a 2 GB RAM memory, the Asus VivoTab also counts with a graphics co-processor. Microsoft Surface 2 has a battery lifetime that's just as good as the battery performance in Asus VivoTab.

The Asus VivoTab captures clearer videos and photos than Microsoft Surface 2, and although they both have the same video frame rates and the same video resolution, the Asus VivoTab also has a lot better 8 mega-pixels resolution camera in the back.

Although Microsoft Surface 2 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Asus VivoTab, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Asus VivoTab. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy the Microsoft Surface 2, otherwise you can save some dollars and get the Asus VivoTab, giving up some specifications.
