The Xperia Tablet Z has an overall score of 68.5, which is much better than the Asus VivoTab's 57.5 general score. Xperia Tablet Z works with Android 4.4.4 OS, and Asus VivoTab has Windows 8 OS. The Xperia Tablet Z is a notably lighter and a lot thinner tablet than Asus VivoTab, even though both of them were only released with a couple months difference.
Asus VivoTab has a bit more powerful processing unit than Xperia Tablet Z, because although it has an inferior number of cores , and they both have a 2 GB RAM, the Asus VivoTab also counts with a much better graphics processor. Xperia Tablet Z counts with a lot better screen than Asus VivoTab, because although it has a little smaller display, it also counts with much more pixels per inch of display and a much higher resolution of 1200 x 1920px.
Sony Xperia Tablet Z has a little bit better camera than Asus VivoTab, and although they both have the same 1920x1080 video definition and the same video frame rate, the Sony Xperia Tablet Z also has a more mega pixels back-facing camera. Asus VivoTab has a bit bigger memory capacity to store more games and applications than Xperia Tablet Z, because although it has no SD memory slot, it also counts with 64 GB internal storage.
The Sony Xperia Tablet Z counts with a much longer battery performance than Asus VivoTab.
Although Xperia Tablet Z is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Asus VivoTab, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Asus VivoTab. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy Xperia Tablet Z, else you can save a couple dollars and buy the Asus VivoTab, giving up some specs and features.
