Comparison review
Microsoft Surface 2 is slightly better than Asus VivoTab Smart, having a general score of 63.4 against 58.7. The Microsoft Surface 2 is a heavier but a bit thinner tablet device than the Asus VivoTab Smart. Both of these tablets work with Windows OS (operating system), but the Microsoft Surface 2 has a more recent RT 8.1 version while Asus VivoTab Smart has Windows 8 version, providing you some nice extra features and better performance.
Asus VivoTab Smart has just a bit better hardware performance than Microsoft Surface 2, because although it has a lower number of cores , and they both have 2 GB of RAM, the Asus VivoTab Smart also counts with an extra GPU. Microsoft Surface 2 counts with a bit better screen than Asus VivoTab Smart, because it has a little bigger screen, more pixels per inch in the screen and a higher resolution of 1080 x 1920px.
Microsoft Surface 2 and Asus VivoTab Smart feature incredibly similar storage capacity for applications and games, and although the Microsoft Surface 2 has no slot for an SD memory card, they both have equal internal storage capacity. The Microsoft Surface 2 features a battery duration that is just as good as the Asus VivoTab Smart one.
Asus VivoTab Smart features a greater camera than Microsoft Surface 2, and although they both have the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video definition and the same video frame rate, the Asus VivoTab Smart also has a way more mega-pixels back camera.
Although Microsoft Surface 2 is a better device, it costs a lot more than Asus VivoTab Smart, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Asus VivoTab Smart. If you prefer to save some dollars, you can get Asus VivoTab Smart, and give up a few specs and features, but you will get the most with your money.
