Comparison review
Microsoft Surface 2 is better than BlackBerry PlayBook, with a global score of 63.4 against 54.2. The Microsoft Surface 2 has Windows RT 8.1 OS, while BlackBerry PlayBook comes with BlackBerry Tablet OS OS. Microsoft Surface 2's construction is way newer and somewhat thinner, but much heavier than the BlackBerry PlayBook.
The Microsoft Surface 2 counts with a bit more vivid display than BlackBerry PlayBook, because it has a much better resolution of 1080 x 1920, a little bit greater pixel density and a way bigger display. The Microsoft Surface 2 features a little better hardware performance than BlackBerry PlayBook, because although it has doesn't have an additional graphics processing unit, it also counts with a higher amount of RAM memory and 2 more processing cores.
The Microsoft Surface 2's memory for games and applications is very similar to the BlackBerry PlayBook one, they have exactly the same 64 GB internal storage. The Microsoft Surface 2 features a battery life that's just as good as BlackBerry PlayBook's battery performance. BlackBerry PlayBook captures much better photographs and videos than Microsoft Surface 2. Both have the same 1920x1080 video resolution, the same video frame rate and a same resolution back facing camera.
Although Microsoft Surface 2 is a better device, it costs a lot more than the BlackBerry PlayBook, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the BlackBerry PlayBook. So if you need that extra features, you can buy the Microsoft Surface 2, but if you don't you can save some money and buy the BlackBerry PlayBook, resigning some features and specifications.
