Xperia Tablet Z is much better than the BlackBerry PlayBook, with a global score of 68.5 against 54.2. The Xperia Tablet Z works with Android 4.4.4 operating system, and BlackBerry PlayBook comes with BlackBerry Tablet OS operating system. The Xperia Tablet Z construction is newer and way thinner, but also somewhat heavier than the BlackBerry PlayBook.
The Sony Xperia Tablet Z has a bit faster processing unit than BlackBerry PlayBook, because although it has a slower GPU working at 400 MHz, it also counts with more RAM and 2 more cpu cores. The Sony Xperia Tablet Z has a much better display than BlackBerry PlayBook, because it has a much bigger screen, a much better resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels and more pixels per screen inch.
The BlackBerry PlayBook has a bit bigger storage capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Xperia Tablet Z, because although it has no external memory slot, it also counts with 32 GB more internal memory capacity. The BlackBerry PlayBook has just a bit better camera than Sony Xperia Tablet Z, although it has a way worse 5 megapixels resolution back facing camera and a worse video resolution.
The Sony Xperia Tablet Z features a much longer battery performance than BlackBerry PlayBook.
Although Sony Xperia Tablet Z is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than BlackBerry PlayBook, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the BlackBerry PlayBook. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy the Sony Xperia Tablet Z, but if you don't you can save some dollars and buy the BlackBerry PlayBook, resigning a couple specifications.
