Dell Venue 8 7840 is a little bit better than the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7, getting a 61 score against 60.8. These tablets work with Android operating system, but Dell Venue 8 7840 has newer 4.4 version and Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7 has Android 4.2.2 version, so it offers some additional features. Dell Venue 8 7840's body is notably thinner and a little lighter than the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7.
The Dell Venue 8 7840 features a bit superior CPU than Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7, and although they both have 4 CPU cores and a 2 GB RAM, the Dell Venue 8 7840 also has a 64-bit processor and a faster graphics processing unit running at 600 megahertz.
