Comparison review
The Dell Venue 8 7840 is just a bit better than Galaxy Tab, with a 61 score against 58.6. Dell Venue 8 7840 is a noticeably thinner and lighter tablet than the Galaxy Tab. Both tablets in this review work with Android operating system, but Dell Venue 8 7840 has the newer 4.4 version while Galaxy Tab has Android 2.3.3 version.
The Dell Venue 8 7840 features a much more vibrant display than Samsung Galaxy Tab, because it has a bigger display, a way better resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and a much higher amount of pixels per inch in the display. Dell Venue 8 7840 has a much bigger storage capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Galaxy Tab, although it has less internal memory.
The Dell Venue 8 7840 features a much more powerful processing unit than Samsung Galaxy Tab, because it has more RAM memory, a larger number of cores , an extra graphics processing unit and a 64-bit processing unit. The Dell Venue 8 7840 has a slightly better camera than Galaxy Tab, because it has a camera with a way higher 8 mega-pixels resolution.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab has a way better battery duration than Dell Venue 8 7840.
Although Dell Venue 8 7840 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Tab, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Samsung Galaxy Tab. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy the Dell Venue 8 7840, but if you don't you can save some money and buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab, resigning some features and specifications.
