Comparison review

The Microsoft Surface 2 has a score of 61.8, which is much better than the HP ElitePad 1000's 52 overall score. Both of these devices come with Windows OS (operating system), but the Microsoft Surface 2 has a more recent RT 8.1 version while HP ElitePad 1000 has Windows 8.1, so it gives you a couple additional features. The Microsoft Surface 2 is a a little bit lighter and a bit thinner tablet device than the HP ElitePad 1000, although they were released with only 5 months difference.

Microsoft Surface 2 counts with a better looking display than HP ElitePad 1000, because although it has a quite lower 1080 x 1920 resolution and a just a little less pixels per inch in the display, it also counts with a little bit larger screen. HP ElitePad 1000 has a much greater storage capacity for apps and games than Microsoft Surface 2, because although it has no slot for SD memory cards, it also counts with 128 GB internal storage.

Microsoft Surface 2 has a much better performing CPU than HP ElitePad 1000, because although it has less RAM, it also counts with 4 more cores. Microsoft Surface 2 and HP ElitePad 1000 count with very similar batteries. The HP ElitePad 1000 has just a bit better camera than Microsoft Surface 2, and although they both have the same video frame rates and the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video resolution, the HP ElitePad 1000 also has a way more MP back camera.

Microsoft Surface 2 costs a little more than HP ElitePad 1000, but it's still a convenient choice, because you can get a lot more features for that extra money.
