Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9's construction is newer, way thinner and just a little lighter than the HTC Flyer CDMA. Both of these devices use Android operating system, but Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 has a more recent 4.2.2 version while HTC Flyer CDMA has Android 2.3.3.
