Huawei MediaPad M5 8 has a global score of 75.5, which is much better than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018)'s score of 68.3. Even when the Huawei MediaPad M5 8 and Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) were only released with a few months difference, the Huawei MediaPad M5 8 is thinner and somewhat lighter. Both tablets in this review work with Android OS (operating system), but Huawei MediaPad M5 8 has older 8.0 Oreo version while Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) has Android 8.1 Oreo.

Huawei MediaPad M5 8 counts with a better performing CPU than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), because it has a higher number of faster cores and a greater amount of RAM memory. Huawei MediaPad M5 8 has a way better looking screen than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), because it has a little bit larger screen, a much higher resolution of 1600 x 2560 and a much greater screen pixels density.

The Huawei MediaPad M5 8 has much more storage to install applications and games than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), because although it has an external SD slot that allows a maximum of 256 GB against 400 GB, it also counts with 96 GB more internal storage capacity. The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) has a bit better camera than Huawei MediaPad M5 8, although it has a way less megapixels camera, they both have a same size aperture.

Huawei MediaPad M5 8 features just a bit longer battery life than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), because it has a 5100mAh battery capacity.
