Galaxy Tab A 10.5 has a general score of 74.5, which is a little bit better than Huawei MediaPad M5 lite's 73.3 general score. Both tablets in this review use Android OS, but the Galaxy Tab A 10.5 has newer 9.0 Pie version and Huawei MediaPad M5 lite has Android 8.0 Oreo, offering a lot of extra features and enhanced performance. The Galaxy Tab A 10.5 is a somewhat heavier and a bit thicker tablet device than the Huawei MediaPad M5 lite.
The Huawei MediaPad M5 lite has a little more vivid screen than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, and they both have exactly the same resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, the Huawei MediaPad M5 lite also counts with a little higher pixels density. The Huawei MediaPad M5 lite has more memory for applications, games, photos and videos than Galaxy Tab A 10.5, because although it has a slot for SD memory cards that holds up to 256 GB against 400 GB, it also counts with 32 GB more internal storage.
Huawei MediaPad M5 lite has just a little better performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5, and although they both have a Octa-Core CPU, the Huawei MediaPad M5 lite also has 1 GB more RAM memory. Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 has a better camera than Huawei MediaPad M5 lite. Both of them have the same (Full HD) video quality, the same 30 fps video frame rate and a same resolution back camera.
The Huawei MediaPad M5 lite features a little better battery duration than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5, because it has a 7500mAh battery size.
Although Galaxy Tab A 10.5 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Huawei MediaPad M5 lite, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Huawei MediaPad M5 lite. If you prefer to save some money, you can buy Huawei MediaPad M5 lite, giving up some specs and features, but you will get the most with your budget.
