Comparison review
Microsoft Surface 2 is better than Huawei MediaPad, getting a overall score of 63.4 against 56.4. The Microsoft Surface 2 counts with Windows RT 8.1 OS, while Huawei MediaPad has Android 4.0 OS. Microsoft Surface 2's construction is incredibly heavier but somewhat thinner than Huawei MediaPad. Microsoft Surface 2 counts with a bit more powerful processor than Huawei MediaPad, because although it has doesn't have an extra graphics processing unit, it also counts with a higher number of cores (and also faster) and a greater amount of RAM.
Huawei MediaPad counts with just a bit better screen than Microsoft Surface 2, because although it has a way worse 800 x 1280px resolution and a much smaller display, it also counts with a little bit more pixels per screen inch. The Huawei MediaPad shoots much better pictures and videos than Microsoft Surface 2. Both have the same video frame rates, the same (HD) video quality and a 5 mega pixels resolution back-facing camera.
The Microsoft Surface 2 counts with a lot bigger storage to install applications and games than Huawei MediaPad, because although it has no external SD slot, it also counts with 60 GB more internal memory capacity. The Huawei MediaPad counts with a way better battery life than Microsoft Surface 2.
Although Microsoft Surface 2 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Huawei MediaPad, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Huawei MediaPad. So if you need that extra features, you can buy the Microsoft Surface 2, otherwise you can save some dollars and buy the Huawei MediaPad, giving up a couple specs and features.
