Although it's the best we are comparing here, Xperia Tablet S's design is thicker and way heavier than LG G Pad 8.0. Both tablets in this review have Android OS (operating system), but the Xperia Tablet S has the previous 4.1.1 version and LG G Pad 8.0 has Android 5.0.

The LG G Pad 8.0 counts with a brighter display than Sony Xperia Tablet S, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, and they both have exactly the same resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, the LG G Pad 8.0 also counts with a just a bit more pixels per inch of screen. The Sony Xperia Tablet S counts with a bit more powerful processing unit than LG G Pad 8.0, although it has a slower graphics processing unit running at 416 megahertz, they both have the same RAM memory amount and a Quad-Core processing unit.

Sony Xperia Tablet S features a much better memory for applications, games, photos and videos than LG G Pad 8.0, because it has a slot for SD memory cards that supports a maximum of 128 GB and 64 GB internal storage. The LG G Pad 8.0 features a really longer battery duration than Xperia Tablet S. The LG G Pad 8.0 captures a bit better photos and videos than Sony Xperia Tablet S, although it has a lot worse resolution back-facing camera.

Although Sony Xperia Tablet S is a better device, it costs a lot more than LG G Pad 8.0, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as LG G Pad 8.0. So if you need that extra features, you can buy Sony Xperia Tablet S, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and buy the LG G Pad 8.0, resigning some specs and features.
