LG G Pad 8.0 Review

(V480) Score: 58.6 / 100

LG G Pad 8.0 is a mid-level Android tablet, including a high speed 1.2 GHz Quad-Core processor, a 8-inches screen, and 2 cameras, a 5 mega-pixels back-facing camera and a 1.3 MP front-facing camera.

LG appears to have forgotten about weight optimization in this 12.06 oz device. LG made this tablet in many different color options, black, orange, blue and white. This device is quite a compact tablet, considering it has a 8 inches screen and it's just 8.3 inches long and 4.89" wide. The LG G Pad 8.0 is incredibly thin and comfortable, being just 0.39 inches thick.

The LG G Pad 8.0 is equipped with a interesting 8 inches screen with a 1280 x 800 resolution, giving this tablet a mid level graphical experience. This screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch for gestures like pinch and zoom.

This tablet is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 8926 chip, packing a high-tech Quad-Core CPU speeding at 1.2 GHz with only 1 GB of RAM which is a little bit poor for such a solid tablet device. Graphic intensive apps generally consume a lot of CPU cycles, so this tablet has an extra Adreno 305 GPU ticking at 450 MHz to take care of them, leaving the processor free for other tasks. A good advantage of the LG G Pad 8.0 is its big 16 GB internal storage memory and an external SD slot, allowing you to install hundreds of apps without worrying about space.

This device includes WiFi connection (which it can provide to other devices acting as a router or modem). This tablet doesn't use a SIM card, because it doesn't support GSM connections.

This tablet has two cameras, a 5 megapixels back-facing camera and a 1.3 megapixels front facing camera. The LG G Pad 8.0 also captures videos in 1920x1080 (Full HD). To complete the camera, it also has a few interesting characteristics: auto-focus, face detection shooting and geo tagging.

This tablet has a 4200 mAh incredible Li-Ion battery providing this device a great battery duration.

This device also comes with a handful of cool characteristics such as Bluetooth (4.0) and GPS Geolocation, and some sensors likeLight Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

LG is offering this tablet for 105 dollars, which is quite high for a tablet device this level. The LG G Pad 8.0 is the correct choice no matter if you need it for work, will use it mostly for internet broswing and social networks or are looking for a portable tablet for gaming.
