Comparison review
The Microsoft Surface 2 has an overall score of 63.4, which is a little bit better than the Apple iPod Touch 5th Generation's global score of 62.7. Although the Microsoft Surface 2 is newer than Apple iPod Touch 5th Generation, it's extremely heavier and extremely thicker. Microsoft Surface 2 works with Windows RT 8.1 OS, and Apple iPod Touch 5th Generation has iOS 7.x OS.
The iPod Touch 5th Generation features a sharper screen than Microsoft Surface 2, because although it has a much smaller display and a way lower 1136 x 640 resolution, it also counts with a lot greater screen pixel density. IPod Touch 5th Generation's memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos is just as good as the Microsoft Surface 2 one, and although the iPod Touch 5th Generation has no slot for an external memory card, they both have exactly the same 64 GB internal storage capacity.
Microsoft Surface 2 counts with just a bit better performance than iPod Touch 5th Generation, because although it has doesn't have a graphics processing unit, it also counts with more RAM memory and more CPU cores. IPod Touch 5th Generation captures greater videos and photos than Microsoft Surface 2. They have a 5 MP resolution back facing camera, the same video frame rates and the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video quality.
The Apple iPod Touch 5th Generation counts with a much better battery duration than Microsoft Surface 2.
Although Microsoft Surface 2 is a better device, it costs a lot more than Apple iPod Touch 5th Generation, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Apple iPod Touch 5th Generation. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy the Microsoft Surface 2, but if you don't you can save some money and get the Apple iPod Touch 5th Generation, resigning some specifications.
