The Microsoft Surface 2 has a global score of 63.4, which is just a bit better than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1's 62.7 global score. Although the Microsoft Surface 2 is somewhat heavier than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, it's a little bit thinner and also newer. Microsoft Surface 2 works with Windows RT 8.1 OS, and Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 counts with Android 4.0 OS.
The Microsoft Surface 2 features a bit more powerful CPU than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, because although it has doesn't have an additional graphics processing unit, it also counts with a greater number of faster cores and a larger amount of RAM memory. The Microsoft Surface 2 has a bit more vivid display than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, because it has a way better resolution of 1080 x 1920px, a greater quantity of pixels per display inch and a bit bigger display.
Microsoft Surface 2 features a much better memory capacity to install applications and games than Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, because although it has no slot for external memory cards, it also counts with 64 GB internal memory capacity. The Microsoft Surface 2 shoots much clearer photos and videos than Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, because it has a back camera with a much better resolution.
The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 has a really longer battery life than Microsoft Surface 2.
Although Microsoft Surface 2 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy the Microsoft Surface 2, else you can save some money and get the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, resigning some features and specifications.
