Comparison review
Microsoft Surface 2 has an overall score of 63.4, which is a little bit better than Galaxy Tab 8.9's score of 58.1. Although Microsoft Surface 2 is a lot newer than the Galaxy Tab 8.9, it's just a bit thicker and extremely heavier. The Microsoft Surface 2 comes with Windows RT 8.1 OS, and Galaxy Tab 8.9 counts with Android 3.0 OS.
The Microsoft Surface 2 and the Galaxy Tab 8.9 both count with quite similar screens, although the Galaxy Tab 8.9 has a just a little lower pixels density, a way worse 800 x 1280px resolution and a little bit smaller screen. The Microsoft Surface 2 features a greater hardware performance than Galaxy Tab 8.9, because it has a greater number of cores.
The Galaxy Tab 8.9 counts with as much storage for apps and games as Microsoft Surface 2, and although the Galaxy Tab 8.9 has no SD card slot, they both have equal internal storage capacity. Microsoft Surface 2 has just a bit better camera than Galaxy Tab 8.9, because it has a way higher (Full HD) video resolution and a much more mega pixels back-facing camera.
Galaxy Tab 8.9 counts with a very superior battery performance than Microsoft Surface 2.
Although Microsoft Surface 2 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9. If you want to save a few dollars, you can buy Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, letting go a couple features and specs, but you will get the most with your budget.
