Microsoft Surface 2 has an overall score of 63.4, which is a little bit better than the Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE's general score of 58.8. Microsoft Surface 2 comes with Windows RT 8.1 OS, while Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE comes with Android 4.0 OS. Even though Microsoft Surface 2 is much newer than Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE, it is a little thicker and extremely heavier.

Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE features a screen that's just as good as the screen in Microsoft Surface 2, although the Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE has a just a little worse pixel density, a little smaller screen and a way worse resolution of 800 x 1280px. Microsoft Surface 2 has a little better hardware performance than Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE, because it has a larger number of cores.

Microsoft Surface 2 takes slightly better videos and photos than Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE, because it has a back camera with much more MP and a way higher (Full HD) video resolution. Microsoft Surface 2 features much more storage to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE, because it has more internal memory.

The Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE has a much longer battery lifetime than Microsoft Surface 2.
