The Microsoft Surface 2 has a score of 63.4, which is a bit better than Galaxy Tab's 58.6 overall score. Even though the Microsoft Surface 2 is noticeably heavier than Galaxy Tab, it's a lot thinner and also noticeably newer. The Microsoft Surface 2 comes with Windows RT 8.1 operating system, while Galaxy Tab has Android 2.3.3 operating system.

The Microsoft Surface 2 features a little sharper screen than Samsung Galaxy Tab, because it has a lot higher 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution, a little bit greater pixels number in each screen inch and a way bigger screen. Microsoft Surface 2 has a superior processor than Samsung Galaxy Tab, because it has a larger number of cores and a larger amount of RAM memory.

The Galaxy Tab captures a bit better photos and videos than Microsoft Surface 2, although it has a back camera with way less mega-pixels and a lot worse 720x480 video quality. The Microsoft Surface 2 counts with a much greater memory capacity for applications and games than Galaxy Tab, because although it has no slot for external memory cards, it also counts with 64 GB internal memory capacity.

Galaxy Tab has a really longer battery performance than Microsoft Surface 2.

Although Microsoft Surface 2 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Galaxy Tab, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Galaxy Tab. So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy the Microsoft Surface 2, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and get the Galaxy Tab, resigning some specs and features.
