Comparison review
The Microsoft Surface Pro is a little bit better than the Asus VivoTab Smart, getting a overall score of 63.2 against 58.7. Although it's the best portable tablet in this comparison review, the Microsoft Surface Pro is a way thicker and extremely heavier portable tablet than the Asus VivoTab Smart. Both of these tablets come with Windows operating system, but the Microsoft Surface Pro has a newer 8 Pro version while Asus VivoTab Smart has Windows 8.
Microsoft Surface Pro features a bit better looking display than Asus VivoTab Smart, because it has a better 1080 x 1920 resolution, a little bit bigger screen and a higher quantity of pixels per inch in the screen. Microsoft Surface Pro counts with much more memory capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Asus VivoTab Smart, because although it has no slot for SD memory cards, it also counts with 128 GB internal storage capacity.
The Microsoft Surface Pro has a bit better processing unit than Asus VivoTab Smart, and although they both have a Dual-Core processor, the Microsoft Surface Pro also has a faster graphics co-processor and more RAM memory. The Asus VivoTab Smart has a very superior camera than Microsoft Surface Pro, because it has a lot higher 8 megapixels resolution back facing camera and a way better (Full HD) video resolution.
The Asus VivoTab Smart's battery duration is very similar to Microsoft Surface Pro's battery lifetime.
Although Microsoft Surface Pro is a better device, it costs a lot more than Asus VivoTab Smart, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Asus VivoTab Smart. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can buy the Asus VivoTab Smart, giving up a few specs and features, but you will get the most with your budget.
