Microsoft Surface Pro is slightly better than the Samsung Galaxy Tab, with a general score of 63.2 against 58.6. Microsoft Surface Pro is a newer portable tablet than the Samsung Galaxy Tab, although it is extremely heavier and somewhat thicker. The Microsoft Surface Pro works with Windows 8 Pro OS, and Samsung Galaxy Tab has Android 2.3.3 OS.

Microsoft Surface Pro features a better processing unit than Samsung Galaxy Tab, because it has an additional GPU, more RAM and more processing cores. Microsoft Surface Pro features a little sharper screen than Samsung Galaxy Tab, because it has a much larger screen, a bit greater display pixels density and a lot higher 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab shoots a lot better pictures and videos than Microsoft Surface Pro, and although they both have the same 720x480 video resolution, the Samsung Galaxy Tab also has faster 30 frames per second video frame rate and a back facing camera with a much higher resolution. Microsoft Surface Pro has a very superior storage capacity for games and applications than Samsung Galaxy Tab, because although it has no slot for SD memory cards, it also counts with 128 GB internal memory capacity.

Galaxy Tab counts with a very superior battery lifetime than Microsoft Surface Pro.

Although Microsoft Surface Pro is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Samsung Galaxy Tab, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Samsung Galaxy Tab. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can get Samsung Galaxy Tab, giving up a few specs and features, but you will get the most with your budget.
