Comparison review
Microsoft Surface Pro 2 has a global score of 65.1, which is much better than Galaxy Tab 8.9's global score of 58.1. The Microsoft Surface Pro 2 works with Windows 8.1 Pro operating system, and Galaxy Tab 8.9 comes with Android 3.0 operating system. Microsoft Surface Pro 2's design is newer, but incredibly heavier and much thicker than the Galaxy Tab 8.9.
Galaxy Tab 8.9 features a display that's very similar to Microsoft Surface Pro 2's screen, although the Galaxy Tab 8.9 has a way worse resolution of 800 x 1280px, a quite smaller display and a just a bit worse number of pixels per screen inch. Microsoft Surface Pro 2 features a very superior storage to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, because it has 512 GB internal memory capacity.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 2 has a better performing CPU than Galaxy Tab 8.9. Both have 2 CPU cores. The Galaxy Tab 8.9 has a much better camera than Microsoft Surface Pro 2. Both have the same video frame rates and the same 1280x720 (HD) video definition. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 has a much better battery life than Microsoft Surface Pro 2.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 2 costs a little more than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, but you can get a better tablet for that extra dollars.
