Comparison review
Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is much better than the Acer Iconia W511, getting a overall score of 72.2 against 59.5. Both tablets we compare here come with Windows operating system, but the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has a more recent 8.1 Pro version while Acer Iconia W511 has Windows 8 Pro, providing you some additional features. Although it's the best in this review, the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 body is notably heavier and just a bit thicker than the Acer Iconia W511.
Microsoft Surface Pro 3 features just a bit better screen than Acer Iconia W511, because it has a much better resolution of 1440 x 2160, a larger screen and a greater amount of pixels per screen inch. The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 counts with a much better memory capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Acer Iconia W511, because although it has no slot for external memory cards, it also counts with more internal memory.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 features a little bit better performance than Acer Iconia W511, and although they both have a Dual-Core CPU, the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 also has a larger amount of RAM memory. The Acer Iconia W511 counts with a bit better camera than Microsoft Surface Pro 3, because it has a much higher 8 megapixels resolution camera.
Acer Iconia W511 counts with a superior battery duration than Microsoft Surface Pro 3.
Although Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Acer Iconia W511, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Acer Iconia W511. If you are trying to save some money, you can buy the Acer Iconia W511, letting go some specs and features, but you'll get the most with your money.
