The Apple iPad Air 2 has an overall score of 79.3, which is a bit better than the Microsoft Surface Pro 3's 72.2 score. The Apple iPad Air 2 construction is way thinner and way lighter than the Microsoft Surface Pro 3, even when both of them were released only a few months apart. Apple iPad Air 2 has iOS 8.x OS, while Microsoft Surface Pro 3 counts with Windows 8.1 Pro OS.
The iPad Air 2 features just a bit better performance than Microsoft Surface Pro 3, because although it has 1 lesser and slower cpu cores and a lower amount of RAM, it also counts with a 64-bits CPU. Apple iPad Air 2 has a brighter screen than Microsoft Surface Pro 3, because although it has a little smaller screen, it also counts with a just a bit greater number of pixels per screen inch and a quite better resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels.
