The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is better than the Apple iPod Touch 5th Generation, with a general score of 72.2 against 62.7. The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 works with Windows 8.1 Pro OS, while Apple iPod Touch 5th Generation has iOS 7.x OS. The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is a newer tablet than the Apple iPod Touch 5th Generation, but it's extremely thicker and heavier.
The iPod Touch 5th Generation has a sharper display than Microsoft Surface Pro 3, because although it has a really smaller screen and a way worse resolution of 1136 x 640 pixels, it also counts with a way greater pixel density. The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has a much better storage capacity to store more apps and games than iPod Touch 5th Generation, because it has 512 GB internal storage.

Although Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is a better device, it costs a lot more than iPod Touch 5th Generation, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the iPod Touch 5th Generation. If you want to save a few dollars, you can get iPod Touch 5th Generation, and give up a few features and specs, but you'll get the most with your savings.
