Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is just a bit better than Galaxy Note 8.0, getting a general score of 75.1 against 69.2. The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 body is a lot newer than the Galaxy Note 8.0's, but it is extremely heavier and a bit thicker. The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 counts with Windows 10 Pro operating system, and Galaxy Note 8.0 has Android 4.4.2 operating system.

The Galaxy Note 8.0 counts with a much more powerful CPU than Microsoft Surface Pro 4, because although it has a smaller amount of RAM, it also counts with a GPU and a higher number of cores. The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 has a brighter display than Galaxy Note 8.0, because it has more pixels per inch of screen, a much better resolution of 1824 x 2736 and a really larger screen.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 features much more memory for apps and games than Galaxy Note 8.0, because although it has no SD extension slot, it also counts with 984 GB more internal memory. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 captures a bit better pictures and videos than Microsoft Surface Pro 4, although it has a lot worse 1280x720 video resolution and a much lower 5 megapixels resolution back-facing camera.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 features a much longer battery lifetime than Microsoft Surface Pro 4.

Although Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0. So if you want that extra features, you can buy the Microsoft Surface Pro 4, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and buy the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0, resigning a couple specifications.
