Alcatel OneTouch Hero 8 has a general score of 62.3, which is a bit better than the Microsoft Surface RT's general score of 58.4. Alcatel OneTouch Hero 8 comes with Android 4.4 OS, while Microsoft Surface RT counts with Windows RT OS. The Alcatel OneTouch Hero 8 is a a lot lighter and much thinner tablet than the Microsoft Surface RT.
The Alcatel OneTouch Hero 8 features a bit superior CPU than Microsoft Surface RT, and although they both have the same RAM memory amount, the Alcatel OneTouch Hero 8 also has 4 more CPU cores and a better 700 megahertz graphics co-processor. Alcatel OneTouch Hero 8 counts with a much sharper screen than Microsoft Surface RT, because although it has a really smaller screen, it also counts with a lot greater screen pixels density and a lot better resolution of 1920 x 1200px.
Microsoft Surface RT has a way bigger storage capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Alcatel OneTouch Hero 8, because although it has no slot for an SD memory card, it also counts with more internal storage. The Alcatel OneTouch Hero 8 counts with a much longer battery life than Microsoft Surface RT.
Alcatel OneTouch Hero 8 counts with a greater camera than Microsoft Surface RT, because it has a much higher resolution camera in the back.
Although Alcatel OneTouch Hero 8 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Microsoft Surface RT, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Microsoft Surface RT. So if you need that extra features, you can buy the Alcatel OneTouch Hero 8, else you can save a couple dollars and buy the Microsoft Surface RT, letting go some features and specifications.
