The Apple iPad Air 2 has an overall score of 79.3, which is way better than the Microsoft Surface RT's global score of 58.4. Apple iPad Air 2 comes with iOS 8.x OS, while Microsoft Surface RT comes with Windows RT OS. Apple iPad Air 2's design is newer, notably thinner and extremely lighter than Microsoft Surface RT.
Apple iPad Air 2 features a much better looking display than Microsoft Surface RT, because although it has a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a much higher 2048 x 1536 resolution and a much greater pixel amount per inch of display. The Apple iPad Air 2 counts with a bit better CPU than Microsoft Surface RT, because although it has doesn't have a graphics co-processor and 3 lesser CPU cores (although they are faster), and they both have the same RAM amount, the Apple iPad Air 2 also counts with a 64-bits CPU.
The iPad Air 2 captures a lot better videos and photos than Microsoft Surface RT, and although they both have the same video frame rate and the same video quality, the iPad Air 2 also has a back-facing camera with way more mega pixels. Apple iPad Air 2 has a way bigger memory to store more apps and games than Microsoft Surface RT, because although it has no external memory slot, it also counts with 64 GB more internal storage.
The Apple iPad Air 2 counts with a much longer battery performance than Microsoft Surface RT.
IPad Air 2 costs a lot more money than Microsoft Surface RT, but you can get a much better tablet for that extra dollars.
