Comparison review

Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is a little bit better than the Microsoft Surface RT, with a general score of 61.4 against 58.4. The Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) comes with Android 4.1 OS, and Microsoft Surface RT works with Windows RT OS. The Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) design is somewhat lighter but a little bit thicker than the Microsoft Surface RT, and they were released with only 4 months difference.

Microsoft Surface RT has a bit sharper display than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because although it has a just a bit worse pixels density, it also counts with a bit higher 768 x 1366 resolution and a little bit larger screen. The Microsoft Surface RT features a better CPU than Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because it has an additional GPU, a higher number of cores (and they are faster) and 1 GB more RAM memory.

Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) shoots much better videos and photos than Microsoft Surface RT, and although they both have the same video quality and the same video frame rates, the Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) also has a back facing camera with a way better 3 MP resolution. The Microsoft Surface RT counts with a much greater storage to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because although it has no slot for SD memory cards, it also counts with 64 GB internal storage.

The Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) counts with a much better battery life than Microsoft Surface RT.

Although Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Microsoft Surface RT, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Microsoft Surface RT. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), else you can save a couple dollars and buy the Microsoft Surface RT, giving up a couple features and specs.
