The iPad mini 2 has an overall score of 77.2, which is better than the Samsung ATIV Tab 3's 65 score. IPad mini 2 is a just a little thinner and noticeably lighter device than the Samsung ATIV Tab 3, even though both were released only 4 months apart. IPad mini 2 counts with iOS 8.x operating system, and Samsung ATIV Tab 3 has Windows 8 operating system.
The iPad mini 2 features a bit superior processing unit than Samsung ATIV Tab 3, because although it has a smaller amount of RAM memory, and they both have the same number of cores, the iPad mini 2 also counts with a 64 bits CPU and an extra GPU. Apple iPad mini 2 has a brighter screen than Samsung ATIV Tab 3, because although it has a really smaller display, it also counts with a much better resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels and a lot greater amount of pixels per display inch.
IPad mini 2 shoots a lot better photographs and videos than Samsung ATIV Tab 3. Both have the same (Full HD) video resolution, a camera with a 5 mega pixels and the same video frame rates. Apple iPad mini 2 counts with a superior memory for applications, games, photos and videos than Samsung ATIV Tab 3, because although it has no SD memory slot, it also counts with 128 GB internal memory capacity.
IPad mini 2 has a much longer battery life than Samsung ATIV Tab 3.
Although Apple iPad mini 2 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Samsung ATIV Tab 3, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Samsung ATIV Tab 3. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy the Apple iPad mini 2, but if you don't you can save some money and get the Samsung ATIV Tab 3, letting go some specs and features.
