The iPad mini 2 has a global score of 77.2, which is much better than Samsung ATIV Tab 5's score of 69.2. IPad mini 2 is a newer portable tablet, and it's also incredibly lighter and noticeably thinner than Samsung ATIV Tab 5. IPad mini 2 works with iOS 8.x operating system, and Samsung ATIV Tab 5 works with Windows 8 operating system.
Apple iPad mini 2 features a little better processing power than Samsung ATIV Tab 5, because although it has less RAM, and they both have 2 CPU cores, the Apple iPad mini 2 also counts with a 64-bit processor and a graphics processing unit. IPad mini 2 features an incredibly better looking display than Samsung ATIV Tab 5, because although it has a really smaller screen, it also counts with a way greater screen pixel density and a lot higher 1536 x 2048 resolution.
IPad mini 2 has a lot better camera than Samsung ATIV Tab 5, although it has a back facing camera with a lot worse 5 megapixels resolution. The Apple iPad mini 2's memory for applications, games, photos and videos is very similar to the Samsung ATIV Tab 5 one, and although the Apple iPad mini 2 has no slot for an external memory card, they both have exactly the same 128 GB internal storage capacity.

Although iPad mini 2 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Samsung ATIV Tab 5, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Samsung ATIV Tab 5. If you prefer to save some dollars, you can buy the Samsung ATIV Tab 5, giving up some specs and features, but you'll get the most with your budget.
