Comparison review
The Samsung Ativ Tab is much better than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, with a 66.7 score against 58.1. Samsung Ativ Tab has Windows RT OS, while Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 comes with Android 3.0 OS. The Samsung Ativ Tab is a newer device than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, but it is a bit thicker and extremely heavier.
The Galaxy Tab 8.9 counts with a bit more vivid screen than Samsung Ativ Tab, because although it has a quite lower 800 x 1280px resolution and a little smaller display, it also counts with a little bit better pixels quantity per inch in the screen. The Samsung Ativ Tab has a superior hardware performance than Galaxy Tab 8.9, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Samsung Ativ Tab also has an additional graphics processor.
The Samsung Ativ Tab has much more memory capacity for games and applications than Galaxy Tab 8.9, and although they both have exactly the same 64 GB internal memory capacity, the Samsung Ativ Tab also has a slot for an SD memory card that admits a maximum of 64 GB. The Samsung Ativ Tab counts with a superior battery life than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, because it has a 37% bigger battery size.
Samsung Ativ Tab shoots a bit better pictures and videos than Galaxy Tab 8.9, and although they both have the same video frame rate and the same 1280x720 video definition, the Samsung Ativ Tab also has a much higher 5 mega pixels resolution back facing camera.
Although Samsung Ativ Tab is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Galaxy Tab 8.9, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Galaxy Tab 8.9. So if you need that extra specs, you can buy Samsung Ativ Tab, else you can save a couple dollars and buy the Galaxy Tab 8.9, giving up some specifications.
