Comparison review
The Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) is better than Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch, with a global score of 75.8 against 68.7. Both tablets in this comparison use Android OS, but Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) has a newer 4.4.2 version and Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch has Android 4.2.2, so it counts with a lot of extra features and optimized performance. Despite being the best in this comparison review, we must tell that it's also a a little bit thicker and a lot heavier tablet.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) counts with a little better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch, because although it has a weaker graphics processor, it also counts with a higher amount of RAM and more CPU cores. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) features a much sharper screen than Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch, because it has a way better resolution of 1600 x 2560 pixels, a lot higher pixels amount per inch of screen and a larger screen.
The Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch counts with as much storage capacity for applications, games, photos and videos as the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) one, both have the same internal storage capacity and a slot for external memory cards that holds up to 64 GB. Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) counts with a much better battery life than Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch, because it has an 85% bigger battery size.
The Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch captures clearer photos and videos than Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014), although it has a way lower (HD) video resolution and a much lower 5 mega pixels resolution back-facing camera.
Although Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch. So if you need that extra specs, you can buy Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014), else you can save a couple dollars and buy the Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch, giving up some features and specs.
