Comparison review
Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) is much better than the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, having a 75.8 score against 65.6. Both of these devices use the same Android 4.4.2 OS (operating system), so both should give very similar OS features. Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014)'s construction is thinner but heavier than Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, and they were released only 7 months apart.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) counts with a more vivid screen than Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, because it has a lot better resolution of 1600 x 2560, a much bigger display and a higher pixel density. The Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) has much more memory capacity for games and applications than Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, and although they both have a SD memory slot that allows a maximum of 64 GB, the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) also has 24 GB more internal storage.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) has a better performing processor than Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, and although they both have 4 cpu cores, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) also has an extra graphics processing unit and more RAM. The Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) features a really longer battery duration than Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, because it has 8220mAh of battery capacity.
The Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 has a much better camera than Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014), although it has a way worse 3 mega pixels resolution back camera and a way lower 1280x720 (HD) video definition.
Although Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Galaxy Tab 4 7.0. So if you need that extra features, you can buy the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014), else you can save some dollars and buy the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, resigning some specifications.
