Both devices in this review have Android OS (Operating System), but Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) has newer 4.4.2 version while Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019) has Android 11, so it gives you a couple nice extra features and performance optimizations. Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) is a a lot heavier tablet than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019), but they are equally thin.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) features just a little better processing power than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019), and although they both have 4 cpu cores, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) also has more RAM and an additional graphics processing unit. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) counts with a lot better screen than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019), because it has a much higher resolution of 1600 x 2560, a bigger display and a way greater screen density.
The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019) takes much clearer videos and photos than Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014). They have the same 1920x1080 video definition, the same video frame rate and the same resolution back facing camera. The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019) has a way bigger memory to store more apps and games than Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014), and although they both have equal 32 GB internal storage capacity, the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019) also has a slot for an external memory card that admits a maximum of 512 GB.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) has a much longer battery lifetime than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019), because it has a 61% greater battery size.
