Comparison review

The Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) has an overall score of 75.8, which is slightly better than Galaxy Tab S 8.4's global score of 74.5. Although it's the best in this review, the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) body is older, noticeably heavier and thicker than Galaxy Tab S 8.4. Both devices in our current comparison use the same Android 4.4.2 operating system.

Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) has a bit faster CPU than Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, because although it has lesser cores (but faster), and they both have a 3 GB RAM memory, the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) also counts with an extra graphics processing unit. Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has a little bit better screen than Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014), because although it has a bit smaller display, and they both have the same exact 2560 x 1600px resolution, the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 also counts with a quite higher display density.

The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has slightly more memory for games and applications than Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014), and although they both have exactly the same internal memory, the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 also has an external SD slot that admits a maximum of 128 GB. The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 shoots much clearer photographs and videos than Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014). Both of them have a back camera with an 8 megapixels resolution, the same video frame rate and the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video definition.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) counts with a much better battery performance than Galaxy Tab S 8.4, because it has an 8220mAh battery size.

Although Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Galaxy Tab S 8.4, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Galaxy Tab S 8.4. So if you want that extra features, you can buy Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014), but if you don't you can save some dollars and buy the Galaxy Tab S 8.4, giving up some specifications.
