Galaxy Note 10.1 is a little bit better than the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, with a general score of 66.3 against 66.2. These tablets work with Android OS (Operating System), but Galaxy Note 10.1 has the older 4.4 version while Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 has Android 4.4.2 version. Even being the best tablet in this review, we must tell that it's also a notably older, thicker and noticeably heavier tablet.
The Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 has a sharper screen than Galaxy Note 10.1, because although it has a really smaller display, and they both have exactly the same 1280 x 800 pixels resolution, the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 also counts with more pixels per inch in the screen. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 counts with a bit more powerful processing unit than Galaxy Note 10.1, because although it has less RAM memory, and they both have 4 processing cores, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 also counts with an extra graphics processing unit.
The Galaxy Note 10.1 features a much bigger storage capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because although it has a SD extension slot that allows 32 GB smaller, it also counts with more internal memory. The Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 captures much better photos and videos than Galaxy Note 10.1, although it has a worse video quality and a lot lower 3 mega-pixels resolution back facing camera.
Galaxy Note 10.1 features a much longer battery performance than Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because it has a 57% bigger battery size.
Although Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, otherwise you can save some money and get the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, resigning some specifications.
